Equine Programs for individuals, families and groups 

Delivered by Karina Harback an experienced Educator and Equine Facilitated Learning Practitioner and her a team of horses in Broadmarsh, ten minutes from Brighton and 30 minutes  from Hobart.

What is Equine Facilitated Learning?

​

Equine Facilitated Learning at Inspire Connections is about learning with the help of horses. 

Participants are provided with opportunities to engage in structured activities with horses to inspire positive connections for enhanced wellbeing.

​

During this process the facilitator works with the participants to develop skills and competencies that will assist them to engage with the critical elements of self-regulation, self-awareness, teamwork, and communication.  

​

The skills developed through participation in the sessions are transferable and directly relatable to all areas of life.

​

Inspire Connections Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) supports children and young people to access support for wellbeing and learning.

 

Inspire Connections Equine Facilitated Learning Programs provide a multi-sensory, hands-on approach that supports the development of self-awareness and personal growth through experiential activities with horses.

Why Horses?

It is becoming more widely recognised that through guided, supportive interactions with horses, people are experiencing unique opportunities for personal growth and the consolidation of crucial transferrable life skills.

Who is Equine Facilitated Learning For?

Children, young people and adults can all benefit from engaging in our programs at Inspire Connections.

All participants are encouraged to experience positive connections and supported towards achieving improved long-term health and wellbeing outcomes through their interactions with the horses.  

 

The location at Broadmarsh, Southern Tasmania, provides space for participants to be engaged in learning important skills for life, developing a positive sense of identity and belonging, and to access opportunities to grow and thrive.

What We Do

We provide Equine Facilitated Learning programs for people of all ages who are looking for support towards their well-being goals.

 

Inspire Connections offer programs to suit the needs of individuals or groups. They are goal orientated to support goals that target well-being and learning. 

 

Referrals can be made by parents/carers, school-based staff, health providers or individuals.

Who We Are

Experienced educator, primary school teacher Karina Harback set out on a journey to support students in her school who were experiencing challenges that impacted upon their learning in the classroom.

​

Two years later after researching, training and a successful pilot program, Inspire Connections' equine facilitated learning program began.

Our Programs

At Inspire Connections we provide programs designed to suit individuals or groups.

 

We provide access to people of all ages and abilities who are looking for support for their wellbeing and learning goals.

​

Activities are ground based to inspire connection, encourage being in the moment and develop skills for life.

​

No prior experience with horses is necessary.

We provide unique, effective opportunities to support wellbeing and learning.

Wellbeing is an important part of our learners succeeding and flourishing in their learning environment.” *

Horses have an amazing way of helping people learn and develop skills for life. 

 

Through experiential activities with horses, participants learn skills for life including self-awareness, confidence, resilience and teamwork. 

 

They build upon connections and relationships whilst engaging in learning in a safe, accepting environment.

Participants who may find the traditional classroom environment challenging respond positively when working with the horses at Inspire Connections.  They are supported in a different way to to regulate emotional responses and build upon new pathways for learning.

Horses are non-judgemental and a powerful catalyst for self-reflecting.
